EBERHARD PRE-EXTRA FORT 1940 (circa). Vintage Swiss chronograph hand winding watch Cal. Eberhard Manufacture 16000 (based on Valjoux 65). JUMBO. Measurements: 40 mm without crown and 43 mm with crown. Good condition although with natural wear and tear over time and use. STUNNING TROPICALIZED DIAL. *** COLLECTORS ***
OBSERVATIONS:
Extremely rare Eberhard & Co. three-register one-button chronograph (pre Extra Fort). This watch was the world's first 3 register chronograph with hour counter. Watch highly desired by collectors due to the few units manufactured.
The top pusher controls all the chronograph functions: start, stop and reset.
The bottom pusher is not actually a pusher. It is a sliding button that locks the upper push button. When the lower button slides up, the upper button is locked and does not work. When the bottom button slides down the top pusher will be fully functional.
